Simmer Pro is officially compatible with the Comment Rating Field Pro plugin by WPZinc.

Our team has carefully vetted a variety of ratings plugins to find the best ones that match your recipes. Having control over exactly how your ratings are displayed is important for site owners, so we made Simmer Pro compatible with the best aggregate ratings plugins out there.

These plugins give you control over ratings' labelling, positioning, numerical range, metadata markup for SEO, and a variety of other helpful settings anyone can fit to their needs.

Simmer Pro takes care of placing ratings inside recipes for you to make sure ratings appear inside your Google Structured Data and grow your SEO.

Installing Comment Rating Field Pro

  1. Download, install, and activate the plugin from WPZinc.
  2. Add a New Field Group. Choose a name at the top then select where your field group will be visible. To apply the ratings input and output to all recipes choose your recipe category from your blog or the Recipe post type if you're using single recipes.
  3. Under the first option on the left for General settings, confirm that Schema type is set to (No Schema). This means that Simmer will continue applying the correct schema ensuring ratings are included in the recipe post type with your other data without a second schema on the page.
  4. Choose other settings like color, start size, labels, rating requirements for comments, maximum rating, precision, position, limit ratings to one per person, disable or enable half-ratings (.5), limit ratings by user role, display ratings with excerpts, averages, nd other options.

That's it! An example screenshot of the required (No Schema) setting is included below.

Ratings can be restricted by blog or recipe categories, too.
